Behind “The Bend”

The Bend Mercantile draws its name from the historic plaque adorning our building, which honors Tulsa's rich film heritage. "The Bend" signifies our deep connection to the arts, particularly the iconic films "The Outsiders" and "Rumblefish" — both written by Tulsan S.E. Hinton and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Step inside our store and you'll discover a small mural commemorating "Rumblefish," a testament to our community's creative legacy that continues to inspire us today.

Our Values

At The Bend Mercantile, we're built on four essential cornerstones: community connection, ethical consciousness, reasonable pricing, and embracing curiosity. We believe shopping should be more than a transaction — it should tell a story. That's why we carefully curate elevated bodega items for our neighbors and unexpected goods for everyday living. Each product on our shelves comes with a narrative from the makers and vendors we partner with, creating a meaningful connection between their craft and your purchase. When you shop with us, you're not just buying an item — you're becoming part of a larger story.
